Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Broomly does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Data Collection

Broomly collects nothing. The app has no network access. It does not create user accounts. It does not use analytics, crash reporting, telemetry, or any form of tracking. File names, file contents, and file metadata never leave your Mac.

Downloads Folder Access

Broomly accesses your Downloads folder exclusively. This access is granted through a macOS security-scoped bookmark — a permission you explicitly provide when you select the Downloads folder in the app. You can revoke this access at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders.

Broomly reads file names and metadata to classify files and moves files within your Downloads folder (e.g., from ~/Downloads/ to ~/Downloads/PDFs/). Broomly never reads file contents beyond what the file system provides (name, extension, size, modification date) and never copies files outside of your Downloads folder.

Local Storage

All app data — your settings, custom rules, project presets, and move history — is stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/Broomly/. This directory contains JSON files that never leave your device. You can inspect or delete them at any time.

Third-Party Services

Broomly uses zero third-party services. No analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no ad networks, no cloud providers, no CDNs. The app's purchase flow is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit — Broomly does not see or store your payment information.

Children's Privacy

Broomly is not directed at children under 13. Since no data is collected from anyone, no data is collected from children.
